Senior Citizenry Inebriated Waltz
In 3/4 time repeated ad nauseum
She falls to the bridge with a fault
Hits the pavement right angle
From her start...
Blood breaks through wrinkled skin
Like cracked earth parched from
A gold vein, like blood w/o plasma
Pithy by design,
Never seen red since
A skinned knee in 1929.
She commenced a close reading of
A new geography...pavement
With blood running like
The Los Angeles River under
The current cement abatement
Nothing but the sun to dry it up
And pick her up off the pavement.
